Alvin Waddles – Bernstein Tribute

Detroit Original Alvin Waddles’ relationship with the music of Leonard Bernstein began at the Interlochen Arts Academy where he first performed in his most popular stage work West Side Story. That began life-long love affair with the work s of that wonderfully eclectic composer/conductor/educator/performer. Something of a musical hybrid himself, Mr. Waddles often blends classical, jazz, spiritual and gospel idioms into his unique and very personal performances. He returns to the festival this year along with his friends Marion Hayden, Dave Taylor, Gene Parker and Shahida Nurullah with a spirited tribute to this iconic American master.
