Internationally awarded pianist (first prize of the Monte Carlo Competition for Jazz soloists in 2015) and composer, with a professional career spanning countries across Europe, North Africa, and North America, Giuseppe De Gregorio aka Joe De Gregorio is the incarnation of what Jazz is meant to be: not simply an art form but a lifestyle of social awareness rooted in a global perspective and experience.
To encounter the Joe de Gregorio Trio on stage is to enter into a conversation with musicians who are highly attuned to one another, a link that allows for the execution of intricate arrangements. Not only; these remarkable performers are highly sensitive to the audience’s energy, to co-create an unforgettable experience of “connectedness that lives in the moment”.

“My desire is to invite the listener on a journey, exploring new folkways that naturally emanate from my musical and spiritual roots. I have experienced the Jazz language worldwide, as an innovative tradition that thrives in the moment of its aural shared transmission, a living tool that connects me on stage with musicians from anywhere in the world and allows “a unique story” to be born and told together in real time. My constant quest is capturing, at each performance, one more glimpse of “yet to come” possibilities of this endless music. After leading my “small orchestra” (trio) across the globe for over twenty years, I conclude that Jazz is the most creative, culturally diverse and sophisticated contrapuntal-polyphonic art form in existence. Its powerful essence is fully revealed whenever performers are able-willing to listen carefully to one another while staying connected to their own personality and receptive to the audience. This particular chemistry allows the music itself to take over, as an invisible conductor, that dictates in the moment what I call “the orchestral score of a mysterious infinite storytelling”, at times through a process of sonic transformation, death and rebirth. I believe that such a rare collective-human experience can ultimately lead any sensitive listener to a higher level consciousness reserved for those irresistibly drawn to a continuous state of enlightenment and discovery.” Joe De Gregorio
